Performance which does not over-emphasize any particular musical instrument but is capable of reproducing clear, fluid sound in its most natural form best describes the Crystal 3 Series. These loudspeakers are built with a trapezoidal enclosure which disrupts the formation of regular standing waves inside the cabinet resulting in less ‘boom’ or muddled bass. The precision machined curved front enhances the dispersion from the drive units ensuring that sound is spread throughout the room so that listeners can appreciate the musical qualities of the Crystal 3 loudspeakers no matter where they are seated. Crystal 3 Series’ bass-midrange units utilise natural fibre cones made in the Wharfedale factory to a precise formula and are surface treated to enhance midrange clarity. At each cone’s center is a phase plug that improves high frequency response and ensures seamless transfer of sound through the crossover region to the treble unit. Here high frequencies are output by a micro-fine textile dome located in the smooth curve of the front baffle with a profile specially matched to ensure accurate and extended frequency response beyond the limits of audibility. The resulting sonic output is smooth yet brightly detailed allowing you to hear the finesse of the rich overtones of instruments and vocals in a highly realistic fashion.
These drivers are combined seamlessly by a technologically advanced crossover using the expertise of the dedicated team of Wharfedale audio engineers. You won’t hear this crossover but you’ll experience the results as music flows from the speakers without obstruction filling your room with exciting and vibrant musical performances.
